Fungus and bacteria live on nail tools. Disinfect clippers and files with 70% isopropyl alcohol or a 1:10 bleach solution after each use. Never share tools. Replace disposable emery boards regularly.
Choose salons that autoclave metal tools or use fresh disposables. Bring your own tools if unsure.
